"Commit to love & speak truth daily" were the words spoken by the bride's father who also led the wedding ceremony for Kayla & Richie. I have been a part of countless wedding ceremonies but this one was special. Every moment pointed to Christ & the role marriage has in glorifying God's kingdom. From the bridal party showering the bride & groom with prayers before the ceremony to the tears shed as the bride in white walked towards her groom to all in attendance singing out 'Be Thou Vision' as an anthem for the rest of our days. This wedding day was special. Very special.
...and then the groom showed us how it's done. Ok, sir. Ok.
Of course Kayla is absolutely stunning too! She chose to remember her mother by wearing her veil for her very own wedding day.
*Here's a look back at her bridal portrait session at the Swift-Cole Historic Home.
For the bride, the music was her favorite part of the wedding ceremony. Kayla's late mother was a musician and so one of her favorite hymns was played during the ceremony & the newlyweds danced down the aisle to Earth, Wind and Fire, which was her favorite band.
Kayla, I have enjoyed every moment spent with you during this journey to the alter. All the laughter shared made this photographer's job effortless. As your dad said at the close of the service, "you have found a good man." You did & I am so, so happy for you! Cannot wait to see how you & Richie take on this new adventure as husband & wife. Congrats Mr & Mrs Hicks!
It's no secret that weddings take a lot of teamwork.
