The Henderlights | Harvest Hollow Huntsville, Alabama Winter Wedding

Family & friends traveled from all over to celebrate these two as they became Mr. & Mrs. Henderlight. And goodness it was perfect. Absolutely perfect. ⁣⁣Trust me, ya’ll aren’t 👏🏼 even ready 👏🏼for these 👏🏼 portraits.

One year ago today, the best celebration Harvest Hollow has ever seen took place (*not fact, I totally made that up. But it’s probably true). It was unbelievably cold, but these two & their bridal party were troopers. This wedding was held right before masks were worn & everything got tilted on its side.

I’ll forever treasure dancing with them on the dance floor & soaking up every bit of daylight January left us with for bride & groom portraits. *P.S. Abbie’s “something borrowed” was my very own veil! What a treat to share something so special with one of my dear brides.

Amber & Blake | A Farm Engagement Portrait Session

After months of planning, the day Amber & Blake have waited for is finally here! They will be saying “I Do” this Saturday on what is guaranteed to be a beautiful fall wedding day.

Luckily I had the opportunity to hang out with them before their big day. Amber suggested The Farm in Akron, Alabama and I was blown away. This was my first time to this venue (that isn’t far from where I grew up) & it made for the perfect backdrop to their engagement portraits.

I left this engagement portrait session feeling like I’ve known them since high school & I cannot wait to celebrate them very soon! Enjoy a few of my many favorites from their engagement portrait session.

The Crawfords | An Uptown Birmingham Alabama Elopement

Overlooking their hometown of Birmingham, Jen & Stanley exchanged their personal vows during an intimate ceremony with just their parents & siblings in attendance. It was exactly what the bride, my sweet friend, had always dreamed of. ⁣⁣

Who knew that a year later, small intimate weddings would be what most brides would turn to in light of COVID19. And I must confess, I am a big fan! A year ago, Jen chose to get ready at her favorite hotel in the downtown Birmingham area, the Tutwiler, & it made for the best backdrop for their special first look.

Their ceremony was held at Vestavia Temple of Sibyl followed by a reception at the Southern Kitchen & Bar in Uptown. There they were introduced for the first time as husband & wife as their family & friends cheered. What a sweet celebration indeed. Happy First Anniversary to the Crawfords! 🎉

Kylie & Ricky | Auburn, Alabama Engagement Portrait Session

I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but this Alabama Wedding Photographer misses one of the loveliest village on the plains. That’s right, I miss Auburn, Alabama. So when two of my favorites requested their engagement portrait session in the town they call home, I said ABSOLUTELY!

Last time I was in this college town was for their proposal earlier this year! And now they are planning a wedding…in the middle of a pandemic! Who would’ve guessed it?! But they have taken it all in stride.

Every time Ricky smiles at his fiance, it’s like she’s the only girl in the world. He is smitten & I love photographing them together. And Kylie has the best laugh paired with the sweetest personality. P. S. She’s a dog mom too! The Baileys | Demopolis Alabama Wedding

I don’t know about you but I am a BIG FAN of reminiscing over photos from my very own Alabama wedding day. Today, Anna Ruth & Adam celebrate their FIRST anniversary as husband & wife!!!

On a spring day in late April, surrounded by their dearest families & friends they exchanged vows in Anna’s home church. Vows that meant they would weather all of life’s highs & lows together. I know they have lived this out in just the last 365 days.

I remember the buttons on her dress, the look on her brother’s face when he saw her for the first time (I cried), the laughter her girls so graciously gave me when I asked them to lean in a little bit closer, Adam’s hand that ever so softly lead her around throughout the day, the moment the church doors opened & my childhood best friend walked down the aisle, the smiles of Adam’s grandfather who couldn’t help but be proud to be a part of the day & the dance party that took place later that night.

Looking back through these portraits have brought my heart much joy today & I know they will do the same for you. Happy Anniversary to two of the kindest souls that I am honored to call my friends.

Kylie & Ricky | An Auburn, Alabama Proposal

“I knew I loved him in that moment.” That moment Kylie mentioned was a Jason Isbell concert on the lawn of the Jay & Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center. They’d been dating for only a few months, but she knew that Ricky was the man she’d one day marry.

Fast-forward to a chilly day in February & they’re standing in that same exact spot, when he drops down on one knee & asks Kylie to be his wife. Talk about the perfect proposal!

I spoke with Ricky the week of his planned proposal & you could tell he was so excited. He picked out the loveliest three-stone ring for his girl & did his best to keep his nerves at bay. I’d say he did a pretty good job of surprising Kylie & I was honored to be a witness to such a sweet moment in their love story!
