Jen & Stanley | Rotary Trail in the Magic City Engagement Session

Momma always said you’ll “just know” when you meet the right person. And if I’ve learned anything in my 29 years of life, momma is always right.

Jen met Stanley almost two years ago at a local gym in Birmingham, Alabama. It was after their first date at IHOP (brunch dates are the best!) that she just knew. He makes her laugh & takes care of her. After a year of dating, Jen became paralyzed. Stanley never left her side & became her main source of support. It is because of him that she will be able to walk down the aisle on their wedding day.

And girls just remember, listen to your sweet Southern momma. She knows best.

Love this black & white portrait of these two!

Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session Jen & Stanley

Jen & Stanley both love their universities & love sports, all of them. So for the second half of their engagement session, we decided to highlight those two passions. I love how playful these portraits turned out at a local football stadium. Should make for an interesting football season in the soon-to-be Crawford household.

Lauren | Avenue of Oaks Springhill College Bridal Portraits

Did you know that bridal portrait sessions date back to WWII? You see it was rare to have a photographer at your wedding back then, so the bride would go into the photographer's studio a few weeks before her wedding for a portrait in her wedding gown. And those portraits would become family keepsakes adorning the hallway of the bride's home for all to see. *Read more about this tradition over on Southern Weddings!

I have no doubt that Lauren's granddaughters will one day see these portraits of her & gasp at how beautiful of a bride she was. So elegant & timeless in her ballgown dress, yet young & romantic with her hair up & long veil drifting about in the breeze.

Do you ever think of the legacy you will leave behind? The memories that you will create with your family that will be shared with generations to come. The laughter. The joy. My prayer is that the portraits I capture for my brides will remind them of this special season in their lives. And with their hair all grey & laugh lines surrounding their face, they will tell stories to those gathered around her rocking chair of how she once fell in love in the most magical way.

Lauren is one of my most joyful brides. I absolutely loved spending time with her & her mother at the Avenue of Oaks on Springhill College's campus one Sunday afternoon. Overcast no doubt but made radiant by the bride's smile. I had way too many favorites from this bridal portrait session, so enjoy a few of them!

Sydni and Colton Birmingham Alabama Wedding June 2017

Sydni became Colton's wife in the church where he grew up. These two met in college & on this very warm day in July they decided to embark on a new journey as husband & wife. Family & friends traveled to a small town on the outskirts of Birmingham to share in the joy of their wedding day.

Sydni & Taylor agreed to travel to downtown Jasper after leaving their reception for a few "Just Married" bride & groom portraits. And yall taking these few moments to let the events of the day soak in were something special.

Many don't realize the number of people that work behind the scenes to make a wedding day, here are a few of the unsung heroes from the Taylor Wedding.

The Rivers | August 13th, 2016

Tabbata & Josh were married on Saturday, August 13th, 2016. Tabbata & her girls got ready in The Admiral Hotel located in downtown Mobile. We'd later return to celebrate the newlyweds for their reception in the grand ballroom.

Isn't she a stunning bride?!

The City Church in Mobile served as the backdrop for their wedding ceremony.

They had such a fun bridal party! And dealt with a typical Mobile afternoon shower like champs!

Normally, I am dragging laughter out of people. But not these two, I couldn't get them to stop! And I LOVED IT!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Rivers! Thanks for allowing DMP to be a part of your day!

The Allens | July 16th, 2016

Sara & Ryan got married on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at the Robertson Barn in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

True to Steel Magnolia fashion the theme was blush & bashful - minus the armadillo!

One of my favorite moments from wedding day - the first look. There's just something about that moment when a groom sees his bride for the first time.

Ryan cannot take his eyes off of his gorgeous bride - oh be still my heart!

Sara made for one stunning bride!

How adorable was their ring bearer?! Pink bow tie & all!

...and they lived happily ever Allen!

The Taylors | June 11th, 2016

Hannah & Kyle were wed on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at the Citronelle Community Center.

And let me just say, despite the little rain shower moments before the ceremony, their wedding was absolutely perfect. Hannah chose to go simple considering the outdoor venue & sprinkled touches of purple here & there. Kyle & his men looked oh so handsome in their navy suits.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Her girls were flawless & hilarious.

Can we just take a moment to take in the gorgeous venue & her dress?!
